It’s my birthday, and here’s who is getting this year’s gift!

It’s birthday time again—it’s 48 revolutions around the sun for me. All I have to say is thank goodness for my talented and vivacious partner, Tim, and our equally vivacious and hilarious kiddo, Nina; an awesome community of creatives who support and partner with our work at Germinate; and my clients for enabling me to do this wonderful work.

Later this month, I’ll be celebrating with my family on the Oregon Coast building sand cities (castles aren’t enough for us), and a special trip to Shoofly for slices of their yummy cake.

And now, here’s who is getting this year’s birthday gift…

Affect

Affect is a disability-led effort to create resources that amplify marginalized people of color and embody disability justice. Since this is my 5th consecutive birthday email, I am going to do something exciting: donate 5% of our profits to Affect!

As part of our social responsibility goals here at Germinate, we are committed to the following:

  • Support our collaborators’ desires to volunteer for causes that are personally meaningful
  • Twice yearly charitable donations that support BIPOC and LGBTQA+ organizations, which includes donating 5% of Germinate’s yearly profits
  • Using social platforms, external communications, and reach to amplify the work already being done by BIPOC, LGBTQA+, and Trans Rights organizations working for change
  • Mentorship of BIPOC graphic design students

My number of years on the planet is growing, and so is my availability! If you have a project that’s coming up, now is the time to reach out.
